Barack Obama came to our city for a fundraising event. Being the biggest “wanna-be” that I know, I did what I’ve done since 1984, I went to photograph the “star” and write an article about him. As you may know, I’m a teacher in real life, but have for over 2 decades photographed and written about various events and people. Instead of singiing “I should have been a cowboy”, I would sing “I should have been a journalist”.
Anyhoo.. there I went in the 90 degree heat to rush downtown to stand and wait. (No one was allowed in and so I knew I would be out in that heat).
There were probably 50 people out there with the same idea as me, including two news trucks.
Finally after about two hours wait there came Obama waving, the people waving and even the street sign had a wave indicating “STOP”.
