Because this was an historic event with the first African-American being nominated for President, I would not have missed going to the convention for the world! Historically, this was a big time and important marker in the history of America.
Barack Obama indeed began his speech at “Mile High” stadium in Denver, Colorado basically with words confirming his acceptance as their ( the Democratatic) candidate for President of the United States of America.
My flight arrived here on Tuesday and as I write this in the airport, I have had a good time but I’m so glad to be going home. I’m still a die-hard Republican even after all I’ve heard. In fact, there is a stronger leaning toward the freedoms that I have as a republican in my view.
There are plenty of my close friends who will be voting for Barack. Although they are fine people, my view is they are misguided or do not grasp the gravity of his lofty ideals, tax and spend thoughts and big government. Who can explain all of it? It is such a huge topic with so many spokes.
I will vote McCain even though he is not the candidate that I chose in the beginning. He is old-school, and according to some reports, cannot even send an email so he’s really not up with the times in those terms.
