We’re living in a day and time that the cross is worn by devil-worshippers and Christians alike. The devil-worshipper wears the cross for decoration it seems. The Christian, as a sentimental wearing representing something about faith.
God’s Holy Word says that every man has a measure of faith and with that, I believe that every man “KNOWS” that when he sees the cross (and or wears it) that it is a special and significant symbol of God’s love for mankind.
Many times, I see the cross about the neck of a “head banger” when flipping channels of the television or on the neck of a news personality or even a Hollywood star. Sometimes, I think that people, even those who do not “really” deep down subscribe to the Christian faith, wear the cross in hopes that God will look down on them in favor.
But the cross is no simple matter. The cross represents a time of deep dispair for Jesus, the “Name Above Every Name”. It was Jesus, who knew that he was to go to His death but went anyhow for the sins of man.
He was hung on a cross to die and that is the serious matter here. Jesus hung on the cross, suffered and died so that mankind could know how to experience real love.
So, the cross is no simple matter. The cross is the symbol of life everlasting.
